Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Mahe flooded after heavy rain.

Several residential areas in Yanam and Mahe regions are still inundated because of heavy rain. More than 300 people in both the regions have been shifted to temporary relief camps. Electricity supply had not been restored in rain-affected places in the exclaves.

On Saturday, Minister for Health Malladi Krishna Rao toured the rain-affected areas and distributed food packets to people staying in relief camps.

Former Health Minister E. Valsaraj said hundreds of houses and commercial establishments were still flooded. Pallur and Panthakari were the most affected. The Kerala government had declared red alert in the neighbouring Kannur district. Rain continued to batter all throughout Saturday, he added.
