Justice A.R. Lakshmanan, former Supreme Court judge and former chairman Law Commission of India, dedicated the global social network for health app ‘HEEZY’ (health easy) at RKS College of Arts and Science, Indili near Kallakurichi, Villupuram.

In his keynote address, Justice Lakshmanan highlighted the need for such a social network and appreciated the efforts put in by a team of doctors and professionals led by Dr. Makudamudi to bring out the app for the benefit of the public, hospitals, health professionals, health organisations globally.

“It'll be of immense help to offer health care in faster and effective way to the people,” he said.

Member of Parliament Kallakurichi constituency Dr. K. Kamaraj felicitated. P. Varadharajan, Chairman, Kumudam Publications Private Ltd, Chennai, and Md Younus Budoo, global director of the social network also participated.

Dr. K. Makudamudi representing the global board of directors, HEEZY, said the global social network for health was committed to connecting millions of people for health and to support health organisations across the world to explore the best health solutions available for all.

Among the guests of honour were Vallikkannu Nagarajan, Editor, Thirumagal, Advocate Balu, High Court, Chennai, Mathivanan, former Assistant Director Collegiate education and Vadivukkarasi film artist.

Students’ technical symposium

IFET College of Engineering Villupuram organised Students’ Technical Symposium – “TECHNO VISION ‘18”.

The main objective of this symposium was to make students gain expertise in their technical field and to formulate a future research agenda by their new ideas. The programme provided a platform for the participants to exhibit their technical skills and creativity.

The function was presided over by Vice-Chairman A. Mohammed Ilyas in the presence of Chairman, K.V. Raja, and Secretary K.Shivram Alva.

S. S. Sathya Prakash, Vice-President & Head HR, Amtex Software Solutions Pvt. Ltd, Chennai, the chief guest, in his special address, emphasised that students must identify the area of special interest that inspires them and then develop it in a greater way.

He also advised students to develop their entrepreneurial ability without which their development will not be complete.

The winners were given certificates and cash prizes.

The agenda for this symposium included paper presentation and technical events. In all, 340 papers were submitted by students of CIVIL, CSE, IT, ECE, EEE, MECH and MBA departments.

Principal G. Mahendran, Vice-Principal S. Matilda, Dean Placement & Student Affairs J. Asha, participated in the event.

The function was coordinated by Umadevi, Computer Science Engineering and Kishore, Electronics & Communication Engineering faculty.

Sabari College of Nursing students participated in cleaning the Bahour lake as part of the Swachh Bharat Summer Internship programme being implemented in various parts of the country. In Puducherry, the drive was led by Lt. Governor Kiran Bedi and Pondicherry University.

graduation ceremony

The 5th graduation ceremony of St. Anne’s College of Engineering and Technology in Cuddalore was held recently.

Dr. K. Indira Piriyadarshini, Head of Chemistry division, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai, in her convocation address, urged graduates to seek inspiration from great personalities such as Michael Faraday, Srinivasa Ramanujam, Dr. A.P.J. Abul Kalam and Rabindranath Tagore, each of whom had made a lasting contribution to the world.

The chief guest also distributed degree certificates to graduates.

Rev. Dr.Sr.Y. Yesu Thangam, Secretary of the college, presided over the function, and the secretary distributed the gold medal to Rev.Sr.A. Layoni Margaret, and silver medal to Ms. D. Rani. R. Arokiadass, Principal, presented a brief report on the activities of the college. G. Gnanasundari and R. Vino, Rev. Sr. Rexi, Secretary, Annai Velankanni Polytechnic College S. Savariraj, Principal, AVPTC and the parents of the graduates were present on the occasion.
