Congress to interview candidates tomorrow

Ahead of completing seat-sharing talks with its ally, the DMK, the Puducherry Pradesh Congress Committee is set to commence interview process with aspirants to select its candidates in all constituencies except Mahe and Yanam from Friday.

Nearly a month ago, the Congress- DMK leaders declared their alliance will face elections in Tamil Nadu.

No formal talks yet

Following the announcement, the leaders of local units of both parties commenced informal talks on seat sharing. However, no formal talks have been held so far, the leaders of both parties maintained.

Under the circumstances, the Puducherry Pradesh Congress Committee president A.Namassivayam issued a press release inviting the aspirants to attend interview for the selection of candidates from Friday.

Interview

He said the interview will be held at the party office for two days on Friday and Saturday to choose the candidates of 23 constituencies in Puducherry region.

Similar interviews will be held on Sunday to select the candidates of five constituencies in Karaikal region.
