CM calls on Union Minister

Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers M. Ananth Kumar said the Centre would render necessary assistance to the Union Territory of Puducherry.

Chief Minister N. Rangasamy on Saturday called on Mr. Kumar who visited the city. AINRC MP R. Radhakrishnan also was with the Chief Minister during the meeting.

Sources added the meeting is a courtesy call on the Union Minister.

The Union Minister along with his family members visited Sri Aurobindo Ashram and other places.

Talking to The Hindu , Mr. Kumar said he came on a personal visit along with his family members and no political significance was attached to it. Mr. Kumar said, “Puducherry is a beautiful city and whatever assistance is needed, the Centre is ready to extend it to the Union Territory.”

On a question whether BJP is demanding a Rajya Sabha seat, he replied in the negative.
