The 19-year old student from Kolkata, one of two women issued rape and death threats by Rahul Singh, Kolkata-based employee of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), whom the firm has now sacked, would be filing a police complaint in the matter on Saturday. She has the support of activist group Shontu, which fights online abuse. Singh sent her threatening messages over social media.

Shontu’s head Pranaadhika Sinha Devburman, said: “Our goal is to highlight the fact that sexual predators must be held accountable for their actions in both online and offline spaces. While the firing of the predator is a positive step by the company, we do not have a system to protect survivors and guarantee their privacy.”
