The District Information Office in association with Bhasha Samanvaya Vedi is organising a poets convention and lecture on November 1 as part of the Classical Language Day celebrations. Academician K.V. Thomas will speak on ‘Weaknesses on language in social media’ at the programme to be held at Sports Council Hall in Mananchira at 4 p.m. R.Surendran will speak on the ‘Indian settings’ in the poems of G.Sankarakurup to commemorate the golden jubilee of Mr.Kurup obtaining the Jnanpith award. Recitation of his poems will follow.
