‘December 1’ to open National Film Festival

Kannada film ‘December 1’ will be the opening movie of the National Film Festival to be organised under the aegis of the Kerala State Chalachithra Academy in Kozhikode from May 12 to 16.

The movie, directed by P. Shesadri, had won the national award for the best screen-play and the best Kannada movie during last year.

Mayor A.K. Premajam will open the festival at the Tagore centenary hall on Tuesday. The screening will begin at 10.30 a.m. As many as 20 movies selected from national and international film festivals during 2014 will be screened. The five-day festival is being organised in collaboration with the Ashwini Film Society, Kozhikode Corporation, and the Bankmen’s Film Society. Delegates passes for the festival are being distributed from the organising committee office of the festival at Nalanda auditorium for Rs. 100. Details can be had from the organisers.
