Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will inaugurate the newly constructed bus station-cum-commercial complex of the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) on the Mavoor Road here on June 1.

The inauguration of the bus terminal comes after an inordinate deferment, which has been attributed to the delay in auctioning off the commercial space.

Even now, the State government has not been able to award the contract of the commercial portion of the multi-storey building.

But the government decided to go ahead with the inauguration after temporarily setting up electricity and water supply connection at the terminal.

All KSRTC services will operate services from this terminal from June 2, officials said.

The Kerala Transport Development Finance Corporation (KTDFC), a non-banking financial company fully owned by the government, has constructed the bus station complex for the KSRTC.
