Annual Management fest Backwaters concludes

Over 200 attend digital marketing workshop by Google

Backwaters, the annual management fest of the Indian Institute of Management-Kozhikode (IIMK), concluded here on Sunday.

Some events on the last day included On the Mark, a marketing-based case study competition. Seven teams had qualified for the second round after the initial screening session. Team White Knight from Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research was adjudged the winner, and team Phoenix from the Indian Institute of Management IIM-Calcutta became the first runner-up, said a release.

Ashish Vidyarthi, national award-winning actor and motivational speaker, led a workshop on creativity. Neelesh Hundekari from management consulting firm A.T. Kearney, Suparna Mitra, chief marketing officer of Titan Watches and Accessories, and Arvind Krishnan, managing director of creative agency BBH India, also addressed participants.

A digital marketing workshop was conducted by Google which had more than 200 in attendance. Hunger Wars organised by Barbeque Nation, a food eating contest where prizes worth ₹10,000 were given away. The concluding event was a performance by the band Indian Ocean.

Meanwhile, Shiksha, the corporate social responsibility activity of Backwaters, also ended with students from Kozhikode attending a session on some standard tests and analysis. The other sessions were led by IIM professors on their respective verticals.
