The district office of the Samagra Shiksha, Keralam on Thursday launched ‘Ullasaganitham’, a project to help children in Classes 1 and 2 to easily learn mathematics through a set of modern methods.

Transport Minister A.K. Saseendran opened an event to launch the project at A.U.P. School, Echannur, near Chelannur, in Kozhikode.

The effort is to train children at a young age so that they can excel in mathematics, the Minister said. “Students are being taught not to learn mechanically, but only after understanding the subject properly.

“Modern technology, including the Internet, is being used for the purpose,” Mr. Saseendran said. Samagra Shiksha officials said that students in Classes 1 and 2 would benefit from the project.
