Six days after the “accidental blast” in West Bengal’s Bardhaman district, the four arrested in the case have been charged under sections of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officials said here on Wednesday.
“We have charged all the four including two women under several sections of the UAPA,” Dilip Adak, Deputy Inspector General of CID, told The Hindu .
The accused have also been charged under other sections of the Indian Penal Code such as 121A, 122 and 123 relating to waging war against the state.
While Abdul Hakim, who was present at the blast site, was arrested on Tuesday, Hashem Molla, another accused in the case was arrested on Monday.
