Pulling up a Superintendent of Police for not complying with its order on removing encroachments, the Madras High Court on Friday observed that it would recommend the government to transfer the officer to a non-field post, if he is incapable of implementing the order.

Contempt

The First Bench of Chief Justice S.K. Kaul and Justice M. Sathyanarayanan made the observation on a contempt moved by Villupuram Chamber of Commerce against K.S. Narendran Nayar, SP, as he failed to remove encroachments on public roads of Villupuram district.

Following a PIL moved by the Chamber of Commerce, the High Court directed the authorities to keep the roads encroachment free.
