Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has expressed her deep shock on hearing the news of the death of Mandolin U.Shrinivas.
In a statement offering her condolences, the Chief Minister said: “He has the credit of popularising the instrument among the people. Born into a family of musicians, he had earned the hearts of music lovers,” Ms. Jayalalithaa said.
Stating that his death was an irreparable loss to the world of music, she said the void left behind by him cannot be filled by anyone else. Ms. Jayalalithaa also expressed her heartfelt condolences to his family.
Tamil Nadu K. Rosaiah conveyed his condolences on hearing about the sudden demise of Mandolin Shrinivas.
He said Shrinivas was an accomplished Mandolin artist who brought fame to India across the globe. He noted that his shows left audiences mesmerized and spell bound. He said, “The clutches of death has snatched away the life of a great artist at an early age. The death of Mandolin Shrinivas has left a void and the Carnatic Music World has lost a Mandolin genius.”
The Governor expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family and the artist’s rasikas in particular.
