Saudi Arabia invites Prince of Arcot

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has extended an invitation to the Prince of Arcot, Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali, to attend the ‘Ghusl-e-Ka’aba’ (washing of the Holy Ka’aba) at Makkah, an annual sacred ceremony, to be held on September 14. This was conveyed by the Saudi Ministry of Haj and Umrah to Mohamed Noor Rahman Sheikh, the Indian Consul General to Saudi Arabia- Jeddah, and the same was communicated to the Prince. The Nawab has thanked the Saudi government and will be taking part in the ceremony, a press release said.

Mr. Ali returned to Chennai on Thursday from Haj and Ziarath (visit to Prophet’s mosque), as leader of India’s Haj Goodwill Delegation, nominated by the Prime Minister of India, a press release said.
