Despite the rains affecting the box-office returns and throwing the schedules out of order, the Tamil film industry is doing its bit for the flood-hit.

Actor Rajinikanth has urged his fans across the globe to not celebrate his birthday on December 12 when he will turn 65.

The actor, who is shooting for his latest film Kabali , will be working in Goa. While the actor has already pledged Rs. 10 lakh for the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, Rajinikanth’s family and their extended family have been involved in relief work. Members of his fan clubs have already been involved in extensive relief operations. This would mean that the much-awaited announcement of the sequel to Enthiran would also have to wait. The actor had recently gone to the U.S. to try out some costumes.

The newly elected Nadigar Sangam, led by actor Nasser, has been collecting funds for the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund while theatres have been thrown open for people to stay.
