Police step up security after bomb threat to Light House in Chennai

A bomb threat post on social media depicting a video of demolition of the Light House in Marina Beach, has resulted in the Chennai City Police cordoning off the premises by posting a heavy posse of security on the Kamarajar Salai from Saturday night. 

The Cyber Crime Police along with Q Branch police are investigating the case to identify the accused behind posting of the video.

The Ministry of Port, Shipping and Waterways had alerted the city police about the bomb threat. Immediately, a large number of security personnel were deployed. The Light House was closed for public viewing on Sunday.

The Cyber Crime Police have filed a case and are investigating the identity of the Instagram account from which the bomb threat was posted. The account is still active and the police are trying to trace the identity of the accused.
