Over a thousand students who just finished Class XII participated on Saturday in Uyarvukku Uyarkalvi, a counselling-cum-guidance programme held at Anna University, to know more about engineering courses, colleges and the application process.
The programme, conducted by The Hindu Tamil Thisai, in association with Sairam Institutions, with the support of the Directorate of Technical Education, had students participate in discussions about various courses and meet experts who shed light on their doubts about the various fields of engineering.
Sivathanu Pillai, CEO and Managing Director of BrahMos Aerospace, New Delhi, who was a special guest at the event, encouraged students to study engineering. He said all streams had a good future. “The amount of hard work you put in is comes before the college you study in or the field you pick. Students should develop their skill sets and talents to succeed, which, in turn, will enhance their thinking,” he said.
Anand Institute of Higher Technology, Chennai Institute of Technology, Peri Institute of Technology, Jeppiar Institute of Technology and Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences are co-sponsors.
