Ex-Mayor's P.A. suspended

The Chennai Corporation has suspended an entire team of officials in Perungudi dumpyard, including the former technical personal assistant in the Mayor's office during the earlier DMK regime. According to a press release from the civic body, assistant executive engineer K. Varadharajan, who held a key position in the Mayor's office during the previous local government, has been placed under suspension on Saturday to give way for a detailed enquiry. Conservancy inspectors including M. Dinakaran, K. Ramadoss and K. Sundaram were also suspended. The officials of the civic body have been enquiring into the final disposal of garbage for the past few days following allegations pertaining to falsification of garbage truck deliveries during offloading. The press release alleged that false records were made by the staff involved in documentation of 68 trucks over the past two days.
