The employees of the Tamil Nadu State Aids Control Society (TANSACS) staged a hunger strike, protesting against the alleged vindictive attitude of the authorities towards trade union members at Valluvar Kottam on Sunday.

The employees, who are part of the Tamil Nadu Aids Control Employees Association, protested the high-handedness of officials of TANSACS.

M. Seralathan, secretary of the association, said those involved in trade union activities were being terminated from their jobs or transferred to distant places in violation of labour laws.
