Director of Lens to get Gollapudi Srinivas award

The Gollapudi Srinivas Memorial Foundation’s Gollapudi Srinivas National Award 2015 for best debut director will be given to Jayaprakash Radhakrishnan for his movie Lens , announced G.V. Subba Rao, Managing Trustee of the foundation on Saturday.

“Mr Jayaprakash’s film was chosen out of 33 films which had been nominated from across the country,” he said. Boman Irani, Hindi actor, will deliver the Gollapudi Srinivas Memorial Oration as a part of the awards function, which is scheduled to be held on August 12 at the music academy from 6.45 p.m. onwards. “Kannada actor Shivarajkumar will grace the occasion as the chief guest and director Sudhir Mishra, director Priyadarshan, and Dr. Jayasudha Kapoor will be the guests of honour,” Mr. Subba Rao added. As a part of the function, a stage presentation conceived by Suhasini Mani Rathnam titled I Am An Actor, Your Honour will be staged. “The stage presentation is based on a book by my father Charu Hasan and will star Y.Ge. Mahendra and Madhuvanthi Arun among others,” said Ms. Suhasini.
