AIADMK protest tomorrow in Chennai

The North Chennai unit of the AIADMK will organise a protest meeting by women on Tuesday protesting against Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi calling AIADMK general secretary,,Jayalalithaa as “Thirumathi Jayalalithaa” a press release issued by the party said.

At a recent press meet, Mr.Karunanidhi had used the word “Thirumathi” [equivalent to Mrs.] instead of “Selvi” [equivalent to Ms.] and, in answer to a question had said he would use the word as long as Ms.Jayalalithaa used the phrase “minority government.”

Ms.Jayalalithaa said in her press release that this remark have offended the sentiments of all women and the demonstration will be held in front of the Chennai Collectorate.
