A Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officer has charged her senior of sexual harassment. Though the alleged incident occurred around 12 years ago, the case was filed with R.T. Nagar police in February this year. However, the police are yet to register a First Information Report (FIR). This has come to light now.

“Though a complaint was received in this regard, we have sought legal opinion to further the investigations,” said a senior police officer. The victim alleged that her senior officer, who retired a few years ago, had sexually harassed her, following which she had brought it to the notice of her seniors.

The victim alleged that the authorities concerned had not only failed to initiate any action, but also withheld her due promotion as punishment for bringing up the issue, which prompted her to file the complaint.

However, the senior police officer said they were apprehensive about the delay in filing the FIR. “We will take necessary action once we receive the opinion from the Legal Department,” he said. He, however, declined to comment on the delay in getting the legal opinion.
