Power shutdown
There will be no power supply on Tuesday in some areas of E8 subdivision due to preventive maintenance work taken up by the Bescom authorities. Areas affected between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.: 1st Block, 2nd Block, 3rd Block of HRBR Layout, Canopy Apartments, Mallappa Layout, Bank Avenue, Nanjappa Layout, Teachers Colony, Ramadev Garden, Yaseen Nagar, Subash layout and surrounding areas. Areas affected between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.: Sunrise Chambers, Haudin Road, Usha Kiran Tc, Mayfair Tc, Agrahara, Nallurahalli, Borewell Road, Post Office Road, Outer Circle, Dodsworth Layout, Siddapura Road and surrounding areas; ITPL Main Road, Garudacharpalya, RHB Colony, Lakshmisagara, Mahadevapura Police Station, Singhaiahnapalya and surrounding areas; Poorvankara Apartment, Saraswathinagara, Maheshwari Nagara, Ramakrishna Reddy Layout, Mahadevapura, SRR Layout, surrounding areas of Gangamma Temple, KGF Munireddy Layout, DRDO Compound, Parts of PWD Road, Eater Tank Zone, Thimmareddy Colony, Anandapura, Venugopalswamy Temple to Krishnappa House, Krishna Reddy Industrial Area, and surrounding areas.
Renowned Sanskrit scholar K.T. Pandurangi will be honoured with the Vyasajyothi Award for 2015.
The award will be presented by B.N.V. Subrahmanya, Managing Trustee of Jyothy Charitable Trust, on Gurupurnima Day which will be held at the Bharatiya Vidyabhavan, Racecourse Road.
Award presentation will be followed by special lecture on ‘Gurupoornima’ and ‘Guruvina Mahatma’ by scholar M.L. Narasimhamurthy.
Prof. Pandurangi has written books in both Sanskrit and Kannada.
Elected
Mr. Jayaramu has been elected the president of Peenya Industries Association for 2015-16. The other office-bearers are: Krishnamurthy R (vice-president – president elect); Giri M.M. (honorary secretary); Arif H.M. (joint secretary); Pranesh C.S. (treasurer); and Manjunath H. (joint treasurer).
