Two chain-snatching cases in city

Two women lost two gold chains, together worth Rs. 4 lakh, in separate incidents in the city on Saturday.

According to the police, two men on a motorcycle intercepted Puttamma, a resident of Bommanahalli, in Madiwala and snatched her gold chain weighing 80 gm. Ms. Puttamma was returning home after buying groceries.

Minutes later, homemaker Lalitha Patil (50) was robbed in a similar fashion in Nandini Layout. Ms. Patil was sweeping in front of her house when two men approached her on the pretext of enquiring about an address, and sped away after snatching her gold chain weighing 48 gm.
