Private school managements have urged the Department of Public Instruction to reconstitute the 14-member fee structure committee.

D. Shashi Kumar, general secretary of the Associated Managements of Primary and Secondary Schools in Karnataka, said, “There is not a single representative from private schools in the committee. Education Department officials and retired officials cannot decide the fee structure.”

He said private schools could not reimburse the excess fees for the 2015–16 academic year, and urged the department not to “fool” parents.
