Programmes organised as part of 'PF at your door step' week

As part of 'PF Aapke Dwar’ (PF at your doorstep) week, Employees Provident Fund Organisation has been organising awareness and facilitation camps at Industrial Areas and commercial hubs since May 15. The programme will be on till May 25.

Speaking to presspersons here on Tuesday, Regional PF Commissioner II, SRO, K.R. Puram, Salil Sankar said EPFO, through this door step programmes EPFO has been creating awareness among employees and employers of various organisations of the utility of their recently launched programmes.

He said EPFO launched a programme for providing every EPF member with a Universal Account Number (UAN). This step would reduce the need for depending upon the employer for identification of the PF member and also enable him or her to avail a host of technology-driven services such as e-passbook, SMS on monthly contribution received into PF account, downloadable and dynamic UAN card, short code SMS service and portability of accounts.

The EPFO, till now has organised PF at your door step programmes at HAL Complex, Eco Space and WACIA offices, where several employees and employers had attended the awareness programme, Mr. Sankar added.

He said said Know your EPF Balance on EPFO website will help PF members to know their provident fund balance. Besides, an online inoperative Helpdesk at EPFO’s website www.epfindia.gov.in, www.epfindia.com has also been launched to enable PF members to trace out their old and inoperative PF accounts.

Mr. Sankar has appealed all PF members to activate their universal account numbers on the EPFO website to enable them to receive the PF credit information on monthly basis through SMS, and hassle free transfer of their PF accounts on changing their jobs.
