Passengers on-board the Yesvantpur-Hosur Passenger staged a protest at Baiyappanahalli terminal A against the late running of the train.

Irate passengers travelling towards Bellandur, Carmelaram, Anekal Road and Heelalige stations from Yesvantpur held a flash protest that resulted in the stopping of the Yesvantpur-Hosur passenger train near Baiyappanahalli terminal A in the morning. The protest, the second one in less than a week, was due to late running of the train, resulting in passengers reaching late to work.

According to sources, the protest began around 7:30 in the morning with passengers headed towards Hosur and en-route stations, as the train was around 45 minutes late, and went on for around one and half hours. Consequently, the train from Hosur was stalled at the Anekal Road station between 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. The stations on this stretch are connected to the city's IT corridor in Electronics City, Bellandur and Carmelaram and are used by thousands of passengers for their daily commute to office.

During last weeks protest, the protesting passengers had highlighted how their work was being affected and many of them had to lose out on half a day of work because of trains running 45-60 minutes late on this stretch. The protest had been called off after senior railway officials intervened and promised to take action.
