Miscreants break into house, steal jewellery

Miscreants broke into a house in Malleswaram 9th Cross on Tuesday night and made away with gold and diamond jewellery when the residents were away.

One of the residents of the house, Anita Kumar, has stated in the complaint to the police that the family had left the house around 7.30 p.m. for a birthday party at a relative’s house. When they returned at 9.30 p.m., they found their house burgled. The thieves had made away with the valuables after gaining entry into the house by breaking open the back door.

The almirah had been opened and jewellery, including three gold chains, a pair of gold earrings and six gold bangles along with a diamond necklace and a pair of diamond earrings among others, were stolen. Ms. Kumar immediately alerted the police and lodged a complaint.

CCB arrest

The Central Crime Branch sleuths arrested six persons for plotting to carry out vehicle theft in Subramanyapura police limits.

On gathering information that the accused were plotting vehicle theft and also to rob the vehicle drivers, the sleuths raided the premises and nabbed the accused who have been identified as Babu S (53), Yogeesh (29), Aslam (29), Nayaz (27), Manjunath (30) and Sardar (26), all from Bangalore.

The sleuths have seized lethal weapons along with a goods vehicle from them.
