KSRTC resumes services to T.N.

The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) resumed bus services to Tamil Nadu on Wednesday around 6 p.m. The services were stopped on Tuesday evening following the death of DMK chief M. Karunanidhi.

On Wednesday, a total of 279 services were cancelled from various division in the State, including Bengaluru. The corporation has incurred revenue loss of Rs. 32.54 lakh due to non-operation of buses.

On Wednesday, some private operators also stopped services to interior parts of Tamil Nadu. Towards evening, bus services were restored on both sides.

A police officer said, “Some private operators stopped buses on their own near the check post at Attibele till Wednesday evening. Movement of other vehicles, like cars, were normal. A majority of the people preferred trains over buses to reach various destinations in Tamil Nadu.”
