Jewellery shop looted

Burglars broke into a jewellery shop by drilling a hole in one of the side walls of the structure and fled with valuables worth several lakhs in Giri Nagar on Sunday.

The incident occurred when, Anil Kumar, the owner of Ganesh Jewellers situated in Muneshwara block came to open the shop and found a hole in the wall. The shop was ransacked and half kilograms of gold jewels and 60 kilograms of silver articles were missing.

Senior police officials rushed to the spot and conducted investigations. The accused had drilled the hole from the adjacent wall of the play school which has been vacant for many months.

The police are also verifying CCTV camera’s to ascertain the identity of the burglars.
