GTTC stalling increase in retirement age of staff, says BJP spokesperson

September 30, 2014 02:59 pm | Updated 02:59 pm IST - Bangalore

Though the State government has increased the retirement age of its employees from 58 to 60 years in 2008, such a benefit is yet to reach the staff of the Government Tool Room and Training Centre (GTTC).

Disclosing this to media persons here on Tuesday, BJP spokesperson Suresh Kumar alleged that the GTTC management was waging a legal battle against the increase in retirement age for its staff, although the Advocate General and the Karnataka High Court wanted them to extend the retirement age.

He threatened to stage a dharna on October 13 outside the office of Ratnaprabha, Additional Chief Secretary, Commerce and Industries Department, if the government failed to ensure that the GTTC implemented the new retirement norms by October 10.
