Giriraj steals the show in ‘Mythri’

Mythri can be described as an attempt to silence those who argue that Kannada film is like stagnant water and that there are no experimental scripts. It is undoubtedly one of the most sensible films made in Kannada cinema in recent years. Despite having a big star cast, including Mohanlal, Puneet Rajkumar and Atul Kulkarni, it is a director’s film. Having said this, let me clarify that this is not an art film.

Giriraj is known for making films without succumbing to pressures of commercial movies.

Though Navilaadavaru, Adwaita and Jatta have succeeded in getting appreciation of critics, they did not succeed at the box office. However, Giriraj is sure to taste success with Mythri , because the story is that of the real hero. Mythri is a model of a perfect blend of art and commercial elements. The film explores many angles of dreadful social problem of juvenile crime. Giriraj delineates the story of Siddarama aka Siddu (Aditya), a juvenile delinquent who tries to get out of misery.
