Doctor alleges life threat from medical shop owner

A general physician has filed a complaint against the owner of a medical store for allegedly threatening to kill him and his family if he did not shut down his clinic.

Anivash Kumar Singh, 33, in his complaint to the Bandepalya police on Saturday, told the police that the medical store owner was upset that the doctor was “spoiling his business”.

He continued to consult patients for a nominal fee and even gave medicines, which irked the medical shop owner, Dr. Singh said in his complaint.

Based on the complaint, the Bandepalya police have charged the accused under assault, criminal intimidation and wrongful restraint and are investigating.

The Bandepalya police have summoned the accused for questioning.
