Alleging the involvement of high-ranking police officials in the illegal lottery scam, Janata Dal (Secular) leader H.D. Kumaraswamy on Saturday urged Governor Vajubhai R. Vala to dismiss the Siddaramaiah government.

A day after the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) submitted the interim report on illegal lottery,

Mr. Kumaraswamy said the CID’s report had vindicated his earlier charge that the illegal single-digit lottery business was thriving in the State. Home Minister K.J. George had failed to check it, he alleged.

Addressing a press conference on Saturday, he said: “The CID report has exposed the involvement of IPS officers in the lottery racket.”
