A 30-year-old employee of Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (BMRCL) was on Thursday found hanging in the company quarters at Sunkadakatte in Kamakshiplaya police station limits.

The deceased, Santosh Kumar, worked in the operation and maintenance department and was deployed at the Vidhana Soudha station and the Byappanahalli depot.

The police said that Santosh has left behind a note stating that he committed suicide as he was depressed that the Chandra Layout police had recently summoned him in connection with the missing case of a female colleague.

He mentioned that the BMRCL management is responsible for his extreme step. “The management is harassing employees and this should be stopped,” he said in the note.

Based on the note, the parents of Santosh have filed a complaint against BMRCL. The Kamakshipalya police have taken up a case of unnatural death.
