Anti-corruption activist Anna Hazare was admitted to a nature cure facility on the city's outskirts Thursday afternoon where he will receive treatment.

Mr. Hazare, who was accompanied by fellow activist Arvind Kejriwal, flew in around noon and headed straight for Jindal NatureCure Institute on Tumkur Road, where he would be treated for hypertension among other ailments.

Also accompanying him from the airport to Jindal were over 100 members of the India Against Corruption (IAC). “This was not a time to discuss the strategies for the fight against corruption. We wanted to convey to him that we are praying for his health,” said IAC volunteer Sudhakar Reddy.

A team of four doctors including two senior naturopaths, a chief yoga officer and a physician will be attending upon Mr. Hazare. “Initial examination has revealed that hypertension is the main problem. He has been advised a light diet of juices and fruits. The actual treatment will begin on Saturday after detoxification of his body,” S.C. Jain, Chief Operating Officer of the institute told The Hindu .
