Metallers of the music capital have something massive to look forward to this weekend with India’s biggest and loudest metal festival – the Bangalore Open Air 2015 – hitting the city in a show of epic proportions.
In its fifth edition, the dedicated annual heavy metal festival will see some of the biggest names in the international and Indian metal circuit performing at Royal Orchid Resorts, Yelahanka on June 6. Powered by the world’s largest metal festival Wacken Open Air and strategically supported by UK-based media and music licensing company Amurco, BOA is easily one of the most awaited events in the country. International acts performing this year are Napalm Death, Inquisition, Belphegor, Unwhole and Orator, apart from Indian metal giants Undying Inc, Gutslit, Plague Throat, Escher’s Knot and Nauseate.
The specialty this year is the ‘7 Days Of Hell’ that had 32 bands performing on seven days at seven clubs/pubs in Bengaluru from May 31 to June 5 culminating at the Bangalore Open air concert. The Indian bands that performed in 7 Days Of Hell include Abanddon Supermash, Grossty, Eccentric Pendulum, Stark Denial, Kryptos.
A tradition of the BOA is the Wacken Metal Battle that is also held across 30 countries in the world.
The winning band gets to play at the Wacken Open Air in August and the finals of the same will be held on June 5 at Vapour.
