Togadia’s entry to Bengaluru: organisers to hold live telecast of his speech

While the city police have taken adequate security measures to prevent the entry of VHP leader Praveen Togadia into the city, the organisers have decided to hold a live telecast of his speech to ensure the programme is a success. According to the organisers, the police may stop him from being physically present and take legal action, but there is no bar in airing his speech live.

Responding to this, City Police Commissioner M.N. Reddi said he would take necessary action after consultation with legal experts.

The city police is not against any person, but our concern is about “hate speech” which could disturb peace in society, he said. Inciting disturbances in any form is illegal and will be dealt with strictly, he reiterated.
