Gang of three held for kidnapping businessman

The city police in a swift action rescued a 41-year-old businessman and arrested three persons who had kidnapped him to recover the a sum of Rs 2.9 crore which he owed to his business partner.

The victim, Srihari Sudarshan, who had gone to work, was missing since Wednesday. On Thursday, Soujanya, his wife, received a call from Srihari's mobile and a person informed her that her husband was in their custody and asked her to handover the cheque book to their associates to ensure her husband was released.

Shocked by this, Ms. Soujanya rushed to the police station and filed a complaint. The police swung into action and analysed the CDR of Srihari’s mobile and found that many calls were made to Hyderaband and Telangana region.

Suspecting the involvement of people from Andhra Pradesh, several police teams were formed to nab the kidnappers.

While combing the area, Bagaluru Inspector Anjan Kumar came across a car with AP registration parked near JD Garden.

The occupants of the car began to flee when the police approached. The police gave a hot chase and intercepted the car near airport service road and rescued Srihari.

The police have arrested Mohammed Waseem, (35), Mohammed Abdul Zameer, (38) and Syed Waseef, (46) from Andhra Pradesh.

A detailed questioning of the accused revealed that they had agreed to kidnap Srihari and recover money for one Suresh, from Sikendarabad.

Suresh and Srihari have been business partner since 22 years and were running a visa funding business. Recently, they had differences over sharing profit.

This led Suresh to hatch a plan to kidnap Srihari and and recover the dues. As per the plan the accused had come in the city and stayed in a service apartment in Jade garden. On Wednesday, they abducted Srihari while he was returning home and called his wife the next day.

Suresh had promised Rs. 20 lakh to the accused. The Bagaluru police have launched a massive manhunt for Suresh, who is on the run. We are in touch with the AP counterparts to ascertain the background of the accused , Mr. Anjan Kumar said.
