Electronic Dance Music (EDM) festivals have become immensely popular across the world as they create an experience that helps people unwind and groove to the beats. Vizagites had an opportunity to experience an EDM festival on Sunday evening as a number of artists took music lovers on a journey through various subgenres of EDM.

DJs from across the country and abroad have played in the city but never has there been such variety in one evening.

Vihar at Rushikonda proved to be an ideal venue for the festival as it offered people the chance to get away from the city and relax by the sea. People arrived in the afternoon, enjoyed a picturesque sun set and continued dancing until the moon rose over the Bay of Bengal.

The DJ played electro house, electronica, dubstep, trap, psychedelic trance among other styles. There was also a dance performance by professional dancers Ree and Phithvi and visuals by Eyespye.

The artists that played a set were DJ Candice Redding, Sandunes, Tertrabyte, ShamelessMani, Ronnie Bass Roller, MC Colin Terence, DJ Eddie, DJ Sam, Aerodynamik, DJ Rahul, DJ Swarup Verma, Disguyz, and MC Vinay J. The Sunburn festival organised in Goa every year brings lakhs of tourists to the State and it is known across the world for its music culture.

With festivals like these the city can also find a place in the music circuit and attract a number of visitors to enjoy the beauty of the city.

Annual event

‘Bassment’ the event organisers plan to make it an annual event and hope the city authorities and people in the hospitality sector realise the potential of such an event to boost tourism.
