A daylong cinema workshop was conducted by United Students Productions, in association with film director Geetha Krishna and Geetha Krishna International Film School, in the city on Sunday.
Mr. Geetha Krishna clarified the doubts of students about careers in the film industry, direction, writing the screen play, and acting.
Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao, who participated in the inaugural, said that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu would lay the foundation for construction of a ‘Film hub’ in the city on Monday. He also said that a single window system would be started and an officer would be appointed to provide all the required permissions for undertaking cinema shootings in the city. He felt that more institutes were needed to train film artistes and technicians in the city.
US Productions director Avinash Attada said that more cinema workshops would be held at Tirupathi, Vijayawada, and other places in the State to create awareness among those planning to take up careers in the film industry.
Andhra University Registrar V. Umamaheswara Rao, Head of the Theatre Arts Department of Andhra University K. John, VJF president Gantla Srinubabu, and executive director of US Productions M.N. Kumar were present.
