Police hold volleyball tourney for tribal youngsters

106 teams from 57 villages took part in the event

As part of the community policing, Visakhapatnam Rural Police organised a volleyball tournament for the tribal youth as part of ‘Giri Kreedotsavam’ at Balarevula under Mampa police station limits in Koyyuru mandal on Wednesday.

About 1,500 youth from 57 villages surrounding Koyyuru including Matam Bheemavaram, U. Cheedipalem, Mampa, Revalla and a few others took part in the programme.

Cash awards

As many as 106 volleyball teams were constituted.

Kannavaram village won the first prize of ₹ 25,000, while T Yerragonda bagged ₹15,000 by securing the second spot. Gorlemetta team won the third prize of ₹10,000. Narsipatnam ASP Aarif Hafeez interacted with the youth. About 65 volley ball kits and t-shirts were distributed among participants.
