The High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad for the State of Telangana and State of Andhra Pradesh has ordered that the officials concerned should look into a public interest litigation petition of CPI (M) on alleged manipulation of Inam land record and take action in eight weeks.

CPI (M) Visakhapatnam city unit secretary B. Ganga Rao filed the PIL in the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad stating that though there was 30 acres of Inam land at Vijayaramarajupeta in Adavivaram panchayat, a gazette notification was issued by the Survey Department that 120 acres of land was there. The 120 acres of land was now under the control of five persons through a sale deed. The party alleged the role of political leaders in the manipulation of the details of land and put the value at Rs.500 crore.

A Bench of the High Court comprising Chief Justice Kalyan Sen Gupta and P. V. Sanjay Kumar passed the order on Monday directing the Principal Secretary, Revenue and the respondents concerned to look into the complaint, take the necessary measure in accordance with law and the result should be communicated within eight weeks to the petitioner.

Mr. Ganga Rao and city secretariat member A. Ajay Sarma hailed the order and wanted the government to take back the land allot it as house-sites to the poor.
