Former MLA P. Vishnu Kumar Raju demanded that the State government release ₹21 crore funds which were supposed to be given to 86 IT companies as incentives.

Addressing a press conference in the city on October 23, the senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader said that the incentives were supposed to be released by the government long back, but it didn’t. “Last time, when asked, IT Minister Gudivada Amarnath said that the government was not able to release due to MLC elections code. Later, the managements of various IT companies have brought the issue before senior leaders of YSRCP, but it was not resolved yet,” he said.

“Basically when a new IT company is inaugurated, CEOs and heads of various other companies in the city will be also invited to the event. But during the inaugural of Infosys in Visakhapatnam, directives were strictly given not to invite any management members of other IT Companies at the SEZ Rushikonda. Because the YSRCP leaders were frightened that the managements may question about the incentives,” he stated.

Mr. Kumar Raju also criticised that the State government has done nothing on their part to Infosys which was recently opened. “They didn’t even give free electricity for an hour. But they are projecting it as an achievement by the State government,” he alleged. He also added that no new jobs were created with the company.

He also said that during the Chief Minister programme at IT SEZ recently, around 15,000 IT employees were troubled for more than three hours due to restrictions imposed for that day.

“If Mr. Jagan is really shifting to Vizag, he should buy an helicopter and start using it. He must also set up a helipad at Rushikonda temporary house. This will help the residents from various restrictions,“ he added.

He also reiterated that BJP does not have any role in the arrest of TDP national president N. Chandrababu Naidu. He said that a few YSRCP leaders and Congress leaders are creating such false propaganda for political dispute.
