Reaching out to the general public, especially tribal people in the Agency areas, the 198 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force has taken up specialised coaching for candidates for recruitment into Central Armed Police Forces under its Civic Action programme.
The Staff Selection Commission has recently notified the recruitment of 21,900 constables in CAPF. Taking the opportunity the 198 BN CRPF under the guidance of CRPF IG Southern Sector N R K Reddy, has started coaching eligible tribal candidates, both male and female, for taking the recruitment test, 198BN Commandant Nisheet Kumar said in a statement here on Saturday.
Coaching camp
The battalion is conducting coaching camp at Elwinpeta in Gummalaxmipuram mandal in Vizianagaram district where the eligible candidates would be provided correct techniques for qualifying in the competitive examinations in both theory and physical. The CRPF distributed free books to the 400 candidates, including 67 women, who attended the programme. Apart from free counselling, food and board is also being provided to candidates. The battalion proposes to conduct such coaching camps in Paderu, G Madugula, Visakhapatnam in the district.
Dignified livelihood
Such camps would help tribal people get a dignified livelihood for themselves and also support their families well and improve their socio-economic status, the Commandant said.
Project Officer ITDA Parvatipuram Ambedkar Rao appreciated the CRPF initiative and promised to extend full support to it. CMO, CRPF, Poonam Chaudhary, MRO Ramakrishna Rao, inspector Eswar Rao, Assistant Commandant CRPF Jagan Mohan Rao and others were present at the inauguration of the programme.
