Chaos prevailed at the Main Reservation Complex at the Railway Station here on Friday as staff of the PRS counters did not report for duty as part of the mass agitation launched by the East Coast Railway Shramik Congress to protest against the increase in counter timings.

Passengers, who came to the reservation complex to book their berths by various trains, were annoyed to at the slow pace and to find only a few employees at work. “As many as 30 of the 40 employees reported ‘sick' and only three counters were operated with the help of supervisory staff in the morning and two counters were operated in the afternoon,” according to ECoRSC sources.

The satellite reservation counters at MVP Colony, Duvvada, Simhachalam and Naval Base remained closed on Friday as the staff didn't report for duty.
