The CBI on Tuesday filed a chargesheet against Araku MP Kothapalli Geetha, her husband and managing director of Visweswara Infrastructure P. Ramakoteswara Rao, and four others for allegedly hatching a criminal conspiracy to cheat Punjab National Bank, Mid Corporate Branch, Hyderabad, with regard to sanction and availing of a short-term loan of Rs. 25 crore in 2009.

The investigating agency also said that facts were misrepresented in collusion with bank officials and false documents created over a litigated property to get the loan sanctioned.

Refuting the allegations of the investigating agency at a press conference here, Ms. Geetha said that the CBI chargesheet was not lawfully correct and that she would proceed against it legally.
