Call to bridge digital divide

There is a need to bridge the urban-rural digital divide and rich-poor digital divide to derive the real benefits of the advanced communication systems, Additional GM BSNL Telecom District G Adam has said. Speaking at the Institution of Engineers, Visakhapatnam Local Centre, on the occasion of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day on Sunday, he said though a lot of innovation had been achieved in the telecom sector in the last two decades, there was a lot to be done to take it on par with world standards.

Chairman of IEI Visakhapatnam local centre M. Purnachandra Rao and immediate past chairman I. Satyanarayana were present.
