Staunchly standing by the allocations made in the Union Budget to Andhra Pradesh, BJP city executive meeting has taken exception to the open criticism of the Union Government and the Sangh by TDP leaders.
With city president M. Nagendra in the chair, MLA P. Vishnu Kumar Raju said detailed allocation to health sector.
Among other proposals were allocation of ₹ 430 crore to new Kotiapalli-Narsapur line, Nadikudi-Sri Kalahasti new line (₹ 340 crore), Vizianagaram-Sambalpur third line (₹ 90 crore), Kazipet-Vijayawada third line (₹ 100 crore), Nallapadu-Guntur line electrification (₹ 150 crore), Vijayawada-Gudivada, Machilipatnam-Bhimavaram and Naraspaur-Nidadavole doubling (₹122 crore), electrification of Vizianagaram-Rayagada-Raipur (₹120 crore), Kadapa-Bangalore railway line (₹ 240 crore) and Kakinada-Pithapuram new line ₹ 150 crore.
MLC P.V.N. Madhav said ₹10 crore was allotted to A. P. Central University, ₹54 crore to NIT, ₹50 crore to IIT, ₹42 crore to IIM, ₹30 crore to IIIT, ₹ 5 crore to Indian Institute of Packaging and ₹ 32 crore to Indian Institute of Petroleum, ₹19.62 crore to Dredging Corporation and ₹108 crore to Visakhapatnam Port were among the other allocations.
Mr. Nagendra said the criticism of TDP leaders day in and day out on BJP and the Sangh were hurting the feelings of BJP leaders. He alleged that responsibility of coalition was not being adhered to.
Mr. Nagendra said only five of the promises relating to Andhra Pradesh still remained to be fulfilled.
They relate to Central University, Girijan University, port at Dugarajapatnam, steel plant at Kadapa and Railway zone with Visakhapatnam as headquarters, he said.
