The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Tuesday urged Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan to dismiss Secondary Education Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy from the Cabinet in view of Election Commission recommending slapping a case for filing wrong affidavit. Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday,
TDP leader and MLC Y.V.B. Rajendra Prasad said the Minister was earlier convicted in a FERA case. The Election Commission, now, ordered the officials to file a case in the court. The Minister should resign owning moral responsibility. Else, the Governor should dismiss him as he was ineligible under the Representation of People’s Act, he said.
The people in Krishna district were facing hardships due to acute shortage of irrigation and drinking water. The farmers were clueless about their future. The Congress leaders and its MLAs would remain as betrayers if the government had not released irrigation waters for delta region.
Nandyal MP S.P.Y. Reddy mounted pressure on the government saying he would resign if the water was not released to his region. Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal, whereas, was not seen nowhere. Vijayawada (West) MLA and Vijayawada (Central) MLA Malladi Vishnu were more interested in sand and chappal stand auctions rather than farmers’ issues, he alleged.
Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy stated that he would send a minister to review the delta problem. The TDP hopes that Congress leader Mandali Buddha Prasad would not withdraw his hunger strike midway following the Chief Minister’s statement, he said.
